Overview
This project incorporated a food factory, innovation centre, warehouse and offices. The project was developed in line with the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) Net Zero Building Framework to deliver net zero in both construction and operations.
The KAM team were involved in site appraisals (TDD) at three locations, with Peterborough chosen as the optimum location.
Detailed design and cost planning followed including intergrating the developing production process design. Due to a number of design interventions inclusding low carbon concrete and recycled construction materials, the project was able to achieve a 38% reduction in C02e during construction - dropping the initial baseline estimate of 36,000 tC02e to 22,201 tC02e.
